Mountain High is one of the 3 closest major ski resorts to the Los Angeles
market. Unfortunately,
they were also the least successful in recent years. New ownership took over
late in 1997 and
brought us on to develop a new marketing strategy and image as well as all
advertising and
production for 97/98. The results were (in the words of The Snow Industry
Newsletter)
...the greatest turn around in ski resort history. In our first
season together, Mountain High
increased skier visits from 185,000 to 430,000; an actual 135% gain. We were
all pretty excited
about this one. The campaign consisted primarily of radio and outdoor throughout
LA and San Diego.
Wow! Jim & Kristen and their crew deserve much of the credit for this
huge growth in our first
season. We came in too late in the summer to effect many physical improvements
to the
mountain last year, but The Imagination Company found a way to sell it big.
