With the 25th anniversary of the 1980 Winter Olympics approaching, The Imagination Company was chosen to promote these events and build a long-term positioning for Lake Placid’s Olympic venues. We capitalized on the release of Disney’s film “Miracle” and its world premier at Lake Placid with a broadcast campaign in New York and greater New Jersey launching our new branding, “The Magic Continues”. Building on that success, we’ve developed a long-term multimedia campaign including radio, tv, print, outdoor, internet, collateral, and our own documentary film released on interactive dvd. This ongoing campaign commemorates America’s Greatest Games while highlighting Lake Placid’s current status as the Winter Sports Capitol of the World. Our relationship involves advertising and promoting all of the Olympic venues, including the Olympic Mountain at Whiteface and the full schedule of world championship events hosted at Lake Placid year round. In addition, w worked with IMG to produce the “Magic Gala” on February 23 that brought all of the legends of the ‘80 Olympics back together for the first time as well as dedicated the 1980 Rink to the memory of coach Herb Brooks.
